We are Riki, Sonita, Lilah, Hudson, and Noah a family of five from Kiwi land, New Zealand. In 2014 we decided to give teaching abroad a try and it didn't take long until we were hooked on exploring new places. We started in Saudi Arabia and lived there for three years. A strange place to start some may think but we are grateful for our time there. Our daughter Lilah was born in Jeddah. We loved taking our baby girl on adventures around the globe, so much so that she visited 18 countries in her first 18 months of life! From Saudi, we ventured to South Korea where we lived in Busan for three years. We loved our time by the beach and really enjoyed exploring some of the lesser-known gems Korea has to offer. Hudson was born in Busan and then we returned home to NZ to have our baby, Noah. This brings us to 2022. We have just embarked on our biggest adventure to date, living in Cambodia. Sonita is teaching at an international school here in Phnom Penh. We are excited to share this special country with you!
We find that planning a trip has many variables, based on our own individual travel styles and interests. Throw kids into the mix and there are a whole new set of variables which means that thoughtful planning is essential. This is what originally inspired us to create this space. Some people thought we had lost the plot and others simply didn't believe it was possible to enjoy traveling with a young baby. We value all experiences we have with the kids and have found that the rollercoaster of parenthood is the same in the Middle East as it is in Europe. Seeing new places through their eyes makes it more memorable for us. We hope that our kids will visit this space many times as they create their own pathways in life.
